Damiana Formula (PMS / PMT support for women)

Damiana Formula contains is a botanical food supplement formulated to assist a healthy hormonal balance during the pre-menstrual period. We get excellant results with this product, but have found that it often needs 2-3 menstrual cycles (i.e. 2-3 months) to fully assess its effectiveness. For even better results, it can be combined with anything found here.

Notes: PMT and Candida

We believe that that candida overgrowth is almost always present in ladies with premenstrual tension and must be treated if lasting results are to be obtained for the following reasons:-

• Candida toxins are believed to disrupt the metabolism of vitamin B6 and essential fatty acids, and deficiencies of these nutrients have been associated strongly with PMT and period pain.
• Candidiasis has also been associated with low levels of magnesium, which can also be relevant to premenstrual tension.
• It is believed that Candida can actually secrete oestrogens, which could contribute to an oestrogen - overload situation which then causes PMT and PMS.
• Since we believe Candida can take up residence in the liver, it is also possible that its presence here impairs liver function, adversely affecting the liver's ability to degrade oestrogen.

PMT and vegetarianism

Vegetarians have a lower incidence of eostrogen and consequently, PMT than omnivores. Reducing intake of animal based protein or better still becoming vegetarian or vegan helps reduce PMT. A high fibre diet (which is best derived from a vegetarian diet) is also known to help.

Minimum recommended treatment period: 3 months.
Recommended dosage 2-3 capsules twice daily, preferably with meals.
