A small number of people have objections to two of the herbs in Licorice Formula, and Licorice Formula A has removed these ingredients, and replaced them with Fo-Ti Extract and Sarsparilla. The two removed herbs are

i) Guarana which contains caffeine like compound called guaranine, but absorbed slower and not as stimulating. Occasionally people find it too stimulating nonetheless. Generally we reccomend the non A formula as the Gaurana is an immensely useful herb which is usually very well tolerated.

ii) Korean Ginseng. It also has phyto-eostrogenic properties and occasionally we have had females who say they have been reccomended to avoid phyto-eostrogens by their practitioners. If you are unsure, please remember that the Korean Ginseng is usually a particularly useful herb for M.E. and chronic fatigue sufferers with adrenal exhaustion (incidentally,we belevie that all M.E. and chronic fatigue sufferers have adrenal insufficiency).
