How does For travelling abroad work?
Lactobacillus acidophilus Rosell-52 - a natural resident of the intestinal microflora; this strain of acidophilus has been well studied to survive the stomach acidity and biliary salts; and to travel to the intestines without damage. L. acidophilus Rosell-52 adheres to the cell wall lining of the intestines and exerts beneficial effects in terms of inhibiting intestinal pathogens, supporting immune cells, and providing a protective barrier against pathogens whilst abroad.
Saccharomyces boulardii is a unique probiotic yeast which is sold widely across Europe, especially in France and Germany. S. boulardii has undergone extensive scientific research documenting its safety, and ability to flush out pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella (responsible for 70% of Traveller's Diarrhoea) in order to maintain normal digestive health during travels.
Lactobacillus rhamnosus Rosell-11 - a natural component of the intestinal friendly bacteria; the species is one of the most studied in the probiotic world. As a food supplement For travelling abroad can be safely given to adults and children (from 4 years upwards) with the following recommendations:

Take one capsule daily with food, preferably breakfast, starting 3-5 days before departure, continuing during travel abroad and for a few days upon return from travel, or as professionally directed.

For young children or any patient unable to swallow capsules, the content of the capsules may be mixed with a cold meal or beverage.
Safety
It is not advised to give probiotics to severely immunosuppressed patients, short bowel syndrome (SBS), post cardiac surgery patients, patients with pancreatitis, patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or patients with blood in the stool unless under a doctor's care.
