Acai (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) is an antioxidant rich, dark purple berry that is the fruit of a wild palm that is native to the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. In Brazil and elsewhere Acai fruit is commonly mixed with manioc and consumed as a pulp drink. The juice has also become popular in the U.S. and in Europe where it is frequently served in juice bars.

Acai is naturally rich in anthocyanins or ‘O.P.C.’s - the potent antioxidants that give red wine grapes, pomegranates and many other purple or red foods their colour.  Açai berries anthocyanins in levels up to 33 times higher than those found in red wine grapes. These important antioxidants help to fight cholesterol and are well known free radical scavengers.

Other nutrients found in Acai include plant Sterols, Omega 6 & 9 Essential Fatty acids, many vitamins and minerals, and almost all essential amino acids. Acai's high nutritional value and high antioxidant content have earned it the reputation of being an 'anti-ageing super food.' Acai's sterols are mostly beta-sitosterol (78–91% of total sterols), which are widely reputed to help prostate problems in men, and Acai berry is from the same family as Saw Palmetto berry, also traditionally used to help prostate enlargement.

Our Acai is is sustainably and ethically harvested (cheap rubbish being sold via internet spamming companies frequently are not) and is not bulked with cheap but totally irrelevant ingredients such as rice flour, magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide etc to increase capsule size. This is because unlike the internet spammers, we are a proper nutritional company run by a naturopath, with a reputation to protect.

Usage

2 capsules per day before food, or as recommended by your practitioner.

Ingredients

500mg of Aça (Euterpe oleracea Mart.) extract (2:1) equivalent to 1000mg Açai fruit. Capsule shell: Vegetable cellulose.
