Description

Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa), or Uña de Gato, is a climbing vine from the Peruvian Amazon. It gains its name from the barbed ‘claws’ with which it climbs the rainforest canopy. Cat’s Claw bark and root have been used by the Asháninka people of the Peruvian Rainforest for at least 2,000 years for health and well being. A lot of research has been done on this herb, and is published, and can be found on the internet. Below are some of the areas that have been researched and found to have positive outcomes.

Contra indications:

Cat’s claw products should not be used with medications intended to suppress the immune system. Cat’s claw shoud also be avoided by pregnant women and those who are seeking to get pregnant.

Ingredients

Pure Cane Alcohol, Osmotic Water, Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) bark full-spectrum extract (minimum dry herb potency ratio 1:3) from Peru, carrier-free Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) bark standardized extract containing 4% total oxindole alkaloids from Peru.

Contents: 30 ml

Alcohol content: 55 Vol.%

Food Supplement—Botanical Tincture 

Usage

Suggested Adult (age 16+ years) Use: 15-30 drops, 2 times daily in 120ml (4 oz.) of water. We recommend starting with a lower dose of 1 drop and titrating up to the 30 drops unless otherwise recommended by your practitioner. Maximum 60 drops per day. Shake well before use.

For children aged from 4 (size/weight to be considered), 3 times daily, give one drop per number of years of age.   
Higher dosage?  

Some individuals have found they benefited from taking up to 30 drops twice a day. If you are inclined to do this, please build up to this dosage gradually as per the guidelines above.

Problems with the alcohol base

Occasionally we have had customers who claim they cannot tolerate even one drop of alcohol. This may or may not be genuinely true. Nonetheless if necessary you can deplete the alcohol from the extract by using water that does not exceed 105 degrees F. Mix the drops with warm water, let sit for at least 10 minutes and most of the alcohol will be depleted. As long as the water does not exceed 105 degrees F the action of the extract will not be affected.

What should I combine with Cat's Claw?
