The amino acid tyrosine is critical in the production of thyroid hormones, and for maintaing a healthy thyroid gland. This formula provides generous amounts of tyrosine, which people with low thyroid may be deficient in. It also contains iodine, selenium, and nine other vitamins and minerals which are involved in the production of thyroid hormones. A deficiency of any of these nutrients can predispose to less than ideal thyroid function.

Product Summary

  • Provides key nutrients for healthy functioning of the thyroid gland
  • Tyrosine, together with iodine and selenium are needed to make thyroid hormones.
  • Tyrosine is also involved in the production of some adrenal and pituitary hormones, and a deficiency will affect both the thyroid, adrenal and pituitary glands.
  • Low levels of tyrosine have also been associated with low blood pressure and depression
  • Healthy thyroid function is important for virtually all body systems
  • Take alongside Ocean Kelp or Kelp Formula for additional thyroid support (we think that Kelp Formula is the better option).

Vitamin C: What you need to know
Posted on Wednesday March 25, 2015

It’s an undisputed fact that vitamin C contributes to good health. Most of us already know that it helps us deal with coughs and colds. Linus Pauling’s popular book Vitamin C and the Common Cold discussed this some 40 years ago. We know that old-time sailors and the occasional broke university student have ended up with […]

But on February 28th, we found that Liberal Democrat MP Norman Lamb has announced that […]

The Saatchi Bill: too little, too late?
Posted on Tuesday March 03, 2015

The so-called Saatchi Bill passed the House of Lords last week – a ray of hope for cancer patients and pioneers of innovative medicine. After three years of revisions, amendments and debates, it’s ready to face the House of Commons. We can only hope that our MPs know that they hold in their hands a […]
