Niacin as Niacinamide. This high dosage form of Niacin does not cause the blushing sensation associated with 'ordinary' Niacin.
Niacin (vitamin B3) is a nutrient used to release energy from carbohydrates. It has a variety of uses, which can include relieving arthritic pain and stiffness, improving memory, relieving insomnia and helping manage the symptoms of autism. Niacin usually comes in three forms. That's because as nutritionists, we like to confuse customers (only joking).
- Nicotinic acid can cause a flushing sensation on high dosages - a burning, tingling feeling in the face and chest, and red or flushed skin.
- Inositol hexaniacinate which is a derivative of Nicotinic acid combined with inositol to make it slow-release and therefore non-flushing.
- Niacinamide also known as Nicotinamide - which does not cause flushing, as unlike Nicotinic acid, it only opens up the deep blood vessels like those surrounding the joints (that's the form in this product)
- Niacinamide is readily converted into the bioactive forms of Niacin, NAD+, NADH, NADP, and NADPH, which are vital cofactors in cellular energy production and are critical for the maintenance of DNA stability.
Recommended Intake
One tablet per day with food, or as professionally directed.
