What Really Helps With Brain Fog?

Newsletter written October 24th 2024 - Updated & Improved August 2025

Hi Everyone

As far as I know brain fog not an official medical condition. Yet we get a lot of people calling or emailing us describing brain fog as being a real and debilitating problem for them. It's not the same as depression, chronic fatigue, anxiety, dementia or confusion - though those problems not uncommonly run concurrently with 'brain fog'. It seems to be more of an inability to think clearly, a lack of mental alacrity or a feeling of brain 'heaviness' - at least that's how it's usually described to me.

Fortunately, we've had considerable success in this area, and over the years I have had quite a lot of positive feedback. In researching this newsletter, I typed in "brain fog" in our search bar and found 55 people had used this specific term in their reviews. There would be a lot more, but the sad truth is that only a small proportion of our customers can be bothered to write reviews, and even those that do sometimes use other terms like "spaced out" or "foggy brain" and so on, so it would be almost impossible to capture all of them. You can read all the examples I found and reading what other customers have said, by doing what I did, and you will get the following result.

So which were the products that came up the most frequently?

In first place was Wild Endive Formula (or the very similar product Wild Endive Formula A). In other words there were more positive reviews with the words "brain fog" for these products than anything else. However these products were not specifically formulated for brain fog. They were actually formulated to reduce candida toxins (though they also good general blood and liver detoxifiers). I think this just goes to show the degree to which candida overgrowth syndrome, particularly the candida toxins that candida overgrowth produces, seem to mess with our brains. Candida overgrowth causes the release of acetaldehyde and other toxic byproducts during metabolism. Acetaldehyde is neurotoxic: it particularly interferes with neurotransmitter function, reduces oxygen transport, and can impair mitochondrial energy production in brain cells. This may contribute to the mental sluggishness and depression.  I think it's worth mentioning that initially some people with 'bad candida' need to take high dosages of this product if they want to get good results within days or weeks (as much as 10-12 capsules per day), which is why we also have the larger size 300 capsule bottle, which works out cheaper per capsule.

There were also several entries for molybdenum - which is a vital trace mineral for dealing with candida toxins - though we regard this as an addition Wild Endive Formula, or Wild Endive Formula A in most rather than a replacement. The icing on the cake so to speak.

Second most commonly mentioned - probiotics: Two in particular.

The product(s) that came up the second most frequently, and if if you read the previous paragraph this won't surprise you, were the specialist anti-candida probiotics Threelac and Fivelac. Which reinforces my view that the link between gut health, candida, dysbiosis, and brain health is real!  Candida damages the intestinal barrier, leading to “leaky gut.” This allows inflammatory molecules and toxins (like LPS and fungal metabolites) to enter the bloodstream, potentially reaching the brain. Systemic inflammation and immune activation are strongly linked with cognitive symptoms, including poor concentration and fatigue. Research suggests probiotics help balance gut microbiota, which influences the production of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), both vital for mood regulation and cognition. By reducing inflammation and strengthening the gut barrier, probiotics may also prevent harmful substances from affecting brain health. Additionally, they can modulate stress hormones like cortisol, potentially lowering anxiety and depression symptoms.  I am not suggesting that Threelac and Fivelac are the only probiotics that can help with brain fog. In fact I think that would be a ridiculous claim. They just happen to be the ones on which we have had the most reviews citing improvements in brain fog.

Cleanse Your Colon With Oxygen

It possible won't come as a shock to learn that a few people citing relief from brain fog benefitted from taking our oxygen based colon cleanse product Oxy-Powder (other mentioned the same benefits from colosan which we have now discontinued and replaced it with Oxysan). In the first place no doubt because these products also help with candida and candida toxins. But that's not necessarily the main or only reason. Put crudely, there is very little chance the brain is going to function optimally if the your guts are full of gunk! Oxy-Powder and Oxysan sort this problem out (with colon hydrotherapy for those who want to go a step further).

How Colon Cleansing May Help

Colon cleansing, using our product or colon hydrotherapy or both, may help brain fog in several ways:

  1. Removing Toxins: A sluggish colon may lead to the reabsorption of toxins into the bloodstream. This can create systemic inflammation that may contribute to brain fog. Cleansing could reduce this burden on the body.

  2. Improving Gut Microbiome Balance: Clearing out old waste may help restore a healthier environment for beneficial gut bacteria. A balanced microbiome supports better communication between the gut and brain.

  3. Boosting Nutrient Absorption: If your colon is clogged, your body may struggle to absorb essential nutrients needed for brain health. A cleaner colon may enhance this process.

  4. Reducing Inflammation: Gut inflammation can trigger systemic inflammation, which has been linked to cognitive issues. Colon cleansing may help lower inflammation in the digestive tract.

Flood Your Body with Oxygen

Brain fog often feels like mental fatigue, poor focus, or sluggish thinking, and one key reason is that brain cells aren’t getting or using enough oxygen efficiently. Products that support better cellular oxygenation may help by boosting how well cells produce energy. When oxygen is delivered more effectively, the brain can make more ATP, the fuel it needs to stay sharp and alert. Better oxygenation also helps the body clear out toxins and reduce inflammation, both of which are common contributors to brain fog. As a result, people may experience clearer thinking, improved concentration, and more sustained mental energy.

So it's probably not surpirse that everal reviewers cited Oxygen Elements Max or the rather similar Oxylift as being the product that did the trick for their brain fog. These products are direct competitors designed to be blood and lymph oxygenators, detoxifiers, energy boosters and they are also potent antivirals and antifungal / anti candidal products. Please don't bother phoning asking us which is the best one, as we cannot answer this question for any indivdual  - so just try them, and see for yourselves. They have been discussed in numerous previous newsletters, so I'm not going to go into detail about either of them here. All I will say for now is that these products oxygenate and cleanse the body at the cellular level, whereas Oxy-Powder and Oxysan mentioned above primarily oxygenate and cleanse the gastrointestinal tract. Both types of oxygenators (the oxygen based colon cleansers and the cellular oxygenators) can help with brain fog, and yes you can do both at the same time if you are inclined to, and the combined effect will typically be cumulative.

The Iodine and Thyroid Connection

Several more commented on how Detoxadine - (nascent iodine) helped with brain fog. This did not come as a huge surprise to me, given what I know about the connection between iodine, the thyroid, and brain health (too large a subject to go into here, though I may venture into this in more detail in a future newsletter). Although we don't get anywhere near the same volume of sales with the other products we provide that support the thyroid (mostly because our customers sadly don't know how good they are), they can also help wherever a sluggish thyroid is the cause of the problem.

Why Does Iodine Matter?

Iodine is crucial for the production of thyroid hormones, which play a vital role in regulating your metabolism, energy levels, and brain function. These hormones, particularly T3 and T4, influence how your brain cells communicate and maintain mental clarity. When your body lacks enough iodine, your thyroid gland may produce insufficient hormones, leading to hypothyroidism. One common symptom of this condition is—you guessed it—brain fog.

Covid Jabs, Long Covid and brain fog

Sadly, over the last 3 years, quite a few people have mentioned to me that having the covid jabs, or what we more accurately call worthless experimental poisons which did nothing to prevent the spread of the illness it was supposed to "protect" people from, really badly messed up their brains. Those individuals typically commented on how the following proteolytic enzymes helped them. Namely Serrapeptase and / or Nattokinase and / or Lumbrokinase (these three products are found here) and / or Bromelain, all of which work in a related way to one another.

Another product which appears to people with brain fog as a result of long covid or vaccine damage is Foreign Protein Cleanse. Check it out

NADH

I was just finished this article, when I changed my mind about whether to include one more product than can help with treating brain fog, which is NADH. I wasn't going to include it as we only had two or three web site reviews mentioning it helping with this specifically, and the newsletter was already too long. I changed my mind when I thought about my late father, on whom it had a remarkable effect on his mental accuity, within a matter of days of giving it to him. He did not have dementia, but he was frail, and his mental agility had noticeably slowed, until I gave him NADH. The effect was almost instantaneous on his mental energy. The reason NADH (a naturally occurring coenzyme) can help is because it plays a key role in producing ATP - which is the energy sorucc your your cells rely on to function optimally. When NADH levels drop, energy production slows, leaving the brain feeling sluggish.

As I revised this content in August 2025, the following recent product review caught my eye, confirming my choice to highlight NADH

A year ago I caught COVID which was followed by long COVID, and progressed to mild-moderate chronic fatigue syndrome. My main symptoms have been post-exertion malaise, along with light headedness, gastrointestinal issues, unrestful sleep and brain fog. After returning from work, I’d have to sleep each day. I’d have to have periods off work to recover. I generally felt like I was at 60-70% of normal functioning. I came across NADH after trying many supplements. The result has been amazing so far. It’s the only supplement that I actually feel working. I have 50% more energy generally and PEM (Editorial note, this is 'Post Exertion Malaise') is 70% better. I’m not completely recovered, but find that it takes a lot more exercise for me to crash the next day. My thinking is clearer and mostly I don’t suffer light headedness, again unless I’ve exercised too much. It offers some hope that I might be able to see the back of this. Grateful to the Finchley Clinic and Prof Birkmayer and co. I think this might have changed my life.

NADH is available in stomach acid resistent capsules or as sublingual tablets which bypass the stomach altogether. They they both get similar results, though from time to time a customer does comment saying they tried both and one worked better than the other in their case.

Summary

The list above is not a comprehensive list of every product that can feasibly or even likely help with brain fog, and I have omitted a few potentially important ones in order to keep this newsletter to a sensible length. But I've given you enough to think about for now, and if none of the above work, you can always get in contact with us for some additional suggestions.

If you have found one of our products has helped with your own brain fog, please Logon, go the product page of whatever it is that has helped you and click on "Write Review". Trust me, your stories (especially the positive ones) tremendously helps other sufferers with their healing, and they appreciate reading what others share.

Wishing You All A Clear Brain!
