After around 25 years in the natural supplement business, I’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to our new specialist in women’s health issues. I get calls and emails from women quite often asking about which products they should use for hormonally related issues. Although I am able to give some basic guidance, which I don’t normally charge for, it’s never really been my area of expertise. Even if it was, these issues are complex, and it’s not possible to venture into individual cases in a respsonsible way in the time I allow for the free advisory service I provide.
Introducing Katie Joyce
Katie is a graduate of the College of Naturopathic Medicine, who I have been working with behind the scenes for some time. (She also works as a colon hydrotherapist). She has a commitment to wellness, to her patients, and attention to detail that goes beyond the competent, to the level of the superlative. She takes the same view as myself, that you cannot make the body healthy by poisoning it, therefore allopathic medicines should be avoided when it is possible to do so.
As a qualified nutritionist she is able, if necessary to order the kind of tests needed and make interpration of the results for a deep and unhurried dive into the causes of women’s health concerns. (These are tests that would not normally be ordered by your G.P). Katie can obviously advise on the supplements needed, but her skills extend to the detailed dietary and lifestyle advice needed to transform long-term health which exceed my abilities. This may very well involve looking at issues such as blood sugar balance, sleep hygiene, and gut health, going beyond merely looking at progesterone and oestrogen levels, all of which dance together in a subtle balance and synchonricity.
Some of the other areas she has a particular interest include histamine and inflammation issues. I asked Katie for a comments to set out her approach on women’s hormonal health and the following words come from her : –
When it comes to hormone imbalances many factors may be involved which is why spot treatments with supplements alone may not deal with the deeper causes. The real problem is often rooted in issues with blood sugar, inflammation and even the gut. I work to uncover what’s driving the hormone imbalance in the first place. From there I create bespoke nutrition and lifestyle programmes to transform hormonal health. I’m a registered nutritional therapist and health coach and I work with women of all ages experiencing hormone imbalances including PMS, PCOS, perimenopause, endometriosis and thyroid health.
If you are suffering with any of the above, why not book a FREE 30 minute discovery call with her? This is an opportunity to talk about whatever you’ve been struggling with and find out how she can help. To book please email katie.joyce@thefinchleyclinic.com so that she (and we) know that she came through us. She has asked that you do not send case histories by email, as this will be discussed during your free mini-consultation.

Thinning bones, hardened arteries, decreased ATP production within the mitochondria (causing suboptimal energy and physical performance); What do these three degenerative health conditions have in common? It turns out that an insufficiency of a simple nutrient, vitamin K2, may be a key to reversing all three conditions. “Research has shown poor vitamin K2 intake may be associated with conditions such as bone fractures, bone loss and hardening of the arteries” says Sarah Booth, a vitamin K Researcher and Professor at Tufts University.
Bone Health
Without enough vitamin K2, calcium cannot be utilised for bone growth even if you are taking a healthy amount of Vitamin D, magnesium etc, leading to osteoporosis. Vitamin K2 is crucial for moving calcium into the bones instead of letting it deposit in arterial walls in the heart.

Reduction in death from heart disease
A landmark Heart Study (over 4,800 subjects across a period of 10 years) demonstrated that participants who had the greatest quantities of vitamin K2 in their diet experienced a 57% greater reduction in death from heart disease than people who had the least. And below are the conclusions of a study of 16,057 women….
Protective against diabetes and cancer risk?

What Dosage Should I Take?
There are significant and worthwhile benefits from taking as little as 45mcg per day, and we do have a supplement that delivers that amount per capsule relatively inexpensively. That seems to be the starting point. However without being dismissive of 45mcg, much better results still are found on 150mcg or more. The upper dosage for the very best results possible seem to be when 300mcg per day is taken. I have not seen any evidence of any further benefits above 300mcg per day. The videos on our web site on our pages on Vitamin K2-7 go into the research on this in more depth and are very, very worthwhile viewing.
Which K2 products are the best ones?
There are two that I recommend if you are looking for “top of the range” stuff. If you want to go into in depth, the web pages and videos explain why these K2-7 products are premium, and frankly far better than some of the cheap and almost worthless crap you can buy on Amazon.
MegaQuinone was created to include a therapeutic dose of 320 mcg of vitamin K2-7, plus 200 mcg of Vitamin K1 (at label dosage of 2 per day) and magnesium and zinc as co-factors, to allow the K vitamins to function at their optimal level.
The ONLY 320 mcg, natural MenaQuinGold® K2-7 supplement
Contains both vitamin K2-7 + vitamin K1
Soy-free, Allergen-free, Gluten-free, Dairy-free, GMO-free (most K2 supplements, and allof the cheaper one are derived from soya)
Vegan, Paleo, Kosher and Halal friendly
The ONLY K2-7 supplement with Ultra Absorption Complex
Utilises pharmaceutical grade, all-natural vitamin K2-7 with published safety studies
If you are deficient in vitamin K1 (and most people are), and you take a vitamin K2 supplement, the liver will essentially steal the K2 to satisfy its own needs. Therefore, Cura Vitamin K2-7+ includes enough K1 in the formula to satisfy the liver’s needs, even in the most depleted individuals. This addition of vitamin K1 ensures that vitamin K2 is then available for the vital functions that it needs to perform in the body.
Vitamin K2 is only now achieving the recognition it deserves, as an omnipotent nutrient that exerts control and function in virtually every tissue type in our body, including the digestive tract. Dozens of large-scale studies have clearly illustrated its role in bone health, heart health via calcification and diabetes. K2 acts as an “activator” or carboxylating agent to activate key vitamin K dependent proteins. Given these major health benefits, it could be said that Vitamin K2 is one of the most important dietary supplements available to us, because Vitamin K2 is not typically found in sufficient quantities in the Western diet.
MyoMax® is a high-dose, 100% soy-free vitamin K2-7 supplement formulated to support healthy mitochondrial function and ATP (energy) production. The MyoMax formula includes 300 mcg of vitamin K2 with calcium pyruvate (at label dosage of 1 per day). Though very similar to Cura K2-7, this one is the preferable option for those seeking to improve sports performance, stamina and mitochondrial activity.
A high-dose natural vitamin K2-7 supplement (300 mcg) with calcium pyruvate – (preferable in those who are taking it to increase mitochondrial activity).
Safe for those who are taking a blood thinner medication (Contains NO vitamin K1 which is in Cura K2-7)
Soy-free, Allergen-free, Gluten-free, Dairy -free, GMO-free (most K2 supplements, and allof the cheaper one are derived from soya)
Vegan, Paleo, Kosher and Halal friendly
Utilises pharmaceutical grade, all-natural vitamin K2-7 with published safety studies
Why MyoMax?
40-50% increase in ATP production within mitochondria
12% increase in cardiac output
Improves aerobic capacity from cellular level
Extends duration of peak fitness by 20-30%
Increases efficiency in training and sports performance
MyoMax has been clinically shown to improve cardiovascular performance in healthy adults. The results were impressive, with the researching professor describing the effect of the 8-weeks of supplementation with MyoMax as being equivalent to 6 months of high intensity interval training.
Whilst nearly all vitamin K2 products on the market are either synthetic or soy-based the MenaQuinGold® K2-7 ingredient used in both Cura Vitamin K2-7+ and MyoMax is sourced from a pharmaceutical grade ingredient extracted from fermented chickpeas. There are other benefits of taking a K2 supplement – such as helping prevent tooth cavities (remember, tooth is a form of bone, as discussed above).
You can view ALL of the Vitamin K2 products we provide here. Personally I am taking MegaQuinone every day for general health. I was originally taking 320mcg per day (2 capsules per day), but after taking it for about 6 months, I reduced it to 160mcg per day (1 capsule per day of Cura K2-7+) since by then I felt confident that I had a healthy build-up in my tissues, especially as I am quite a small guy, and also because I was getting a small extra dosage from one of the other supplements I take. I plan to continue doing this indefinitely. It’s not something I notice benefitting from taking, but I am very happy to not get osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes and so on as the primary benefit. I regard it as an investment in my long term health. It’s one of about 15 products that I take on a permanent basis for health and longevity (yes I know not everyone can or is willing to do this), but this is the first time I’ve written an article on this vital nutrient. I have covered many of the others in previous newsletters (such as the ‘obvious’ ones like Vitamin C and Vitamin D), and eventually, I will get around to all of them.
PS Important note for vegans and vegetarians.
I was just about to send this newsletter, and then realised I had failed to mention one very important factoid. Because Vitamin K2 has no naturally vegan sources apart from fermented soy natto, pretty much all vegans and most vegetarians are chronically low in K2 – and that’s not good. Although almost everyone following a vegan diet is aware of the importance of supplementing with Vitamin B12, most vegetarians and vegan’s don’t know this (including myself until a few years ago). The body can convert Vitamin K1 (which is abundant in the vegan diet) into K2, but this is not done very easily or efficiently by the body, so people on plant based diets still tend to be very low in K2. I therefore recommend all veggies and vegans to take Vitamin K2 to optimise their health.
Towards the end of last year, I said I was not going to write any more controversial / semi-political newsletters, as the covid “crisis” wound down. I meant it at the time. However, I was inundated with emails from customers and well-wishers asking me to keep going (although there were around 1% who wrote to me telling me to shut up, and that I wasn’t even entitled to have an opinion). Anyway, in this newsletter, I am writing for the 99% of my audience who said that they want to know more about what I have to say.
Today, I am going to pose a question. If there were two traditional vaccinations, where I could show you strong evidence that the claim that they were effective is in essence based on a lie, would you trust anything else you were told about other vaccinations? That’s one I’ll let you ponder on, after considering the following : –
Measles Vaccine
The measles vaccine was introduced in the UK in 1968, but it only became widely administered in the early 1980’s. The claim has always been that it saved and is still saving many lives. Below are the stats on the effect it actually had on infant mortality from 1838 to the late 1970’s in the UK. Bare in mind that this graph only goes up to 1978, when the takeup was very low.
I know it’s rather hard to see, so below I will blow up the salient bits as much as I can. Here is what the arrow on the far right shows. (The other two annotations shown with arrows just show the words “data gap)”.
As you can see, there is very little evidence that the vaccine saved lives because by the time it came along nobody was dying from measles. I had measles myself as a kid, and I remember it pretty well. It was mild flu with very itchy spots, and it got me a week off school, which I was pretty pleased about at the time. Being the generous young man I was, I passed it on to my brother, who also got the week off school. It was not a deadly disease. In fact as kids in the 70’s we all got measles and we all lived to tell the tale. If you’re a millennial, just ask your parents if you don’t believe me.
In case you’re wondering where these rates stats shown in the graphs above come from, I’ll blow that up too.
You’d probably say, well the UK’s only one country. I agree. So let’s look at the USA, who introduced the vaccine a few years before us, in 1963. That’s the country who’s current President said he was “losing patience” with people who did not want to have a similar medical procedure in 2021 and 2022.
Well, that’s only two countries. So let’s look at Australia. That’s the country which went a step further than that nice Mr Biden. They were actually kidnapping children from their parents, contrary to parental consent, in order to force their children to have the same medical procedure in 2021-2022, as discussed here. Anyway, I digress. Below are the deaths per 100,000 in Australia from measles from 1870 to 1970, showing the “amazing success” of the measles vaccination.
Doubtless the vaccinations were very profitable for the manufacturers. But I do not believe that they dealt with the real cause. The real causes of death from measles were poverty, poor hygiene, and disgusting living conditions. The real thing that stopped the deaths was ending poverty, improving hygiene, and improving living conditions. It had nothing to do with plunging toxic chemicals into our children’s bloodstreams. I think the examples above make the case clear.
* The graphs above come from the book Dissolving Illusions by Dr Suzanne Humphries M.D. Highly recommended!
Diptheria Vaccine
Few people talk about diptheria any more. But this is one that has been of interest to me for 35 years, as I will explain. The vaccination against diptheria is one of those that “everyone knows” cured diphtheria, and is one they can point to “prove” their case. Unfortunately, there is one rather fundamental weakness to this argument. Which is that the claim is actually nonsense, and the UK report proving this was buried by our own government.
As it happens, my late father had a report in his possession which proved the opposite to be the case. Who did the study proving that it wasn’t true? The UK government sponsored Medical Research Council, paid for by the UK taxpayer. Regrettably my father’s girlfriend threw out his wonderful library of pioneering health and naturopathic books, reports, lectures etc going back over one hundred years in the later years of his life, before I had the chance to rescue them, otherwise I would have provided actual screen shots of the original report. I tremendously doubt whether many people possess this important historical document today, which is a real pity.
Fortunately, a good summary of the report is cited in the book ‘Vaccination And Immunisation: Dangers, Delusions and Alternatives (What Every Parent Should Know)’, a book written in the 1980’s by Leon Chaitow, which I have at home. Back in the 80’s and 90’s, Chaitow was probably the most well known naturopath in the country and occasionally gave lectures at the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy, where I was part-trained. Because I am one of the few people alive who has read the original report, I can confirm that the following text is accurate.
The fallacy of the assumption that antibody formation is a measure of immunity was fully demonstrated in a report issued by the Medical Research Council in May 1950, entitled ‘A Study of Diphtheria in Two Areas of Great Britain”. In this report by nine doctors (Percival Hartley, W. J. Tulloch, M. Ander- son, W. A. Davidson, J. Grant, W. M. Jamieson, C. Kenbarrer, R. Morton, and G. H. Robertson), it was stated that the occurrence of diphtheria in the inoculated “led to the investigation into the immunity state, and the behaviour of the immunity mechanism”.
‘In view of the extreme importance of this question, and because so many tests with various vaccines are likely to be made, both in this country and in others, in which it is taken for granted {even if it’s not true} that the antibody formation can be correlated with immunity, it seems desirable to give a brief resumé of the Medical Research Council’s findings.
‘It appears that in the course of the study conducted by these nine doctors, inquiry was made into “clinical diphtheria in 95 fully inoculated persons in Newcastle and Gateshead, with special reference to the antitoxin concentration of the serum of these persons, and of hospital nurses, familial contacts, and carriers”,
There had already, it is stated, been an investigation in 1939 and in 1940-42 of “The antitoxin concentration of the serum of 62 inoculated persons who contracted diphtheria in different areas in England and Wales” but in the first period of the investigation: “Some of the results obtained were so unusual and unexpected, so contradictory, and indeed paradoxical that the inquiry as originally envisaged and put into effect had to be brought to a close”.
“The paradox” they said, was this: on repeated occasions it was found that a sample of serum, taken from patient with a clear history of inoculation who had yielded diphtheria bacilli from nose or throat swabs, and who according to the clinical history exhibited some or other of the classical symptoms of true diphtheria, was found to contain quite large quantities of diphtheria antitoxin.
In other words, the vaccination didn’t work!
Now according to Schick, persons whose serum contains not less than one-thirtieth of a unit of antitoxin per ml. or, according to workers in this and other countries not less than one-hundredth of a unit of antitoxin per ml should not contract diphtheria. Yet of 62 of the patients investigated prior to April 1942, no less than 25 (40 per cent) were found to contain one-tenth of a unit, or more of diphtheria antitoxin per ml. of serum, and of these 5 contained 10 units or more, 7 contained 1-4 units and 13 contained 0.1-0.8 units per ml. of serum (demonstrating that the vaccination didn’t work).
‘In explanation of this it was suggested that a mistake had been madesomewhere (because they would not accept that the vaccination didn’t work) but ‘critical examination of the procedures used for the determination of the antitoxin content of samples of blood and serum failed to reveal sources of error which could account for the high titres”.
They therefore decided to renew the investigation of Tyneside and to take the greatest possible care in the selection of patients and collection of pathological material and in its examination. But still they found as many as 30 persons with clinical diphtheria, in whom the antitoxin content of the serum was one-twentieth of a unit, or more per ml. (demonstrating for a second time that the vaccination didn’t work!).
They encountered another paradox, “namely, the occurrence of several instances of non-inoculated persons having no circulating antitoxin, harbouring virulent organisms, and yet remaining perfectly well, of nurses with little or no circulating antitoxin, regularly employed in diphtheria wards and remaining free from diphtheria; of persons previously inoculated or not, with little or no circulating antitoxin, living in intimate contact with diphtheria in their homes, and yet remaining perfectly well. It was confidently expected that cases of diphtheria would arise, either among the nurses, or among the real relations of patients, and thus provide the material for this part of the inquiry, but this expectation did not materialise (demonstrating that vaccination did not prevent diptheria. It was prevented by having robust pre-existing immunity).
‘Part IlI of the Report deals with the diphtheria outbreak in Dundee, 1941-2, and here there is also a reference to the occurrence of diphtheria in persons whose serum contained an appreciable amount of antitoxin. (In other words, the vaccination didn’t work in 1942 either). The facts disclosed in this Report proved the fallacy of the theory that the presence of antibodies in the blood shows protection against a particular disease; but in all the reports recently published, regarding the testing of immunity [against poliomyelitis infection], they appear to have been conveniently ignored, and the assumption made that the theory is firmly established.
So, the best they could come up with what that “a mistake had been made somewhere” instead of accepting the obvious conclusion, which is that the vaccination did not work. Personally, I can’t help wondering whether the authors were paid off by the manufacturer to “not notice”, or whether they were just so rigid in their thinking that they were incapable of accepting the truth, even when it was hitting them in the face.
However Leon Chaitow did not refer to the most astonishing part of the report. Because my father’s copy was thrown away, I don’t have the precise words in front of me. But I remember what it said, more or less. It was something to the effect of the following (put in posh and more flowery language):
“We know that the diphtheria vaccines must work, even though our research proved that they do not, because we know that vaccinations work. The reason we know vaccinations work, is because that’s what the established science says. Therefore they work, and therefore so does the one we are studying here, even though our own study has just demonstrated that it does not. We therefore strongly advise the government who commissioned this report to carry on with, and actually extend the diptheria vaccination programme, and to ignore our own report”.
And guess, what? That’s precisely what happened.
In reality, I think the main cause of death from diptheria was (and still is) poverty, poor hygiene, and disgusting living conditions. The real thing that stopped deaths was ending poverty, improving hygiene, and improving living conditions. It had nothing to do with plunging toxic chemicals and disgusting microbial remnants into our children’s bloodstreams.
In conclusion
The point here is what the two examples above, going back around 70 years, where clearly the public were and to this day still are being misled, are reminiscent of. Doesn’t this remind you of a certain more recent vaccination, which did not prevent the illness it was supposed to prevent, and did not prevent the spread of the illness it was supposed to prevent? Looking back at the examples of measles and diptheria above, do you think things have changed very much?
I hope you find this interesting, and a welcome change from the typical commercial newsletters, designed to sell the products that companies usually send their customers. I would benefit more personally / financially by writing newsletters that promote the products and services which we provide, and that’s probably what I will get back to next time.

Gut health is hugely important for maintaining an active lifestyle, but many people don’t fully understand the benefits of nurturing healthy gut bacteria. Poor gut health can lead to a wide range of health complications. Candida yeast overgrowth, for example, is a very common problem associated with gut bacteria imbalance that can cause ongoing digestive issues, fatigue, and joint pain. Many of these issues can often be alleviated by achieving a healthier balance of bacteria in your gut – and that’s where the Threelac probiotic product can help. Let’s take a closer look at the Threelac probiotic, and explain how this unique product can contribute to your long-term gut health and general well-being.
What is Threelac?
Threelac is a probiotic, which means that it encourages the growth of healthy bacteria and microorganisms in your gut. This bacteria can offer many different health benefits, from supporting digestive functions to strengthening your immune system. More importantly, Threelac can also help you to manage gut-related health problems such as candida and yeast infections. Threelac functions in a slightly different way than other natural health remedies. As the name suggests, Threelac contains three different types of spore-forming lactic acid bacteria – Lactobacillus Sporogenes, Bacillus Subtilis, and Streptococcus Faecalis. (Don’t worry – you won’t need to remember these by name!) All you need to know is that each of these live microorganisms helps to remove harmful bacteria from your gut, which is vital for maintaining a healthy gut microbiome.
How does Threelac support gut health?
So how does Threelac actually work? The proprietary Threelac formula is packed with live bacteria that help to rapidly expel candida organisms from the body. Threelac’s manufacturer claims that the product allows positive bacteria to safely bypass the acidic environment of the stomach, enabling it to remove problematic organisms quickly and effectively. The effectiveness of Threelac can also be enhanced with additional health supplements such as OxyLift and Active Digestive Enzymes, but the product can still deliver excellent results as a standalone probiotic. Many customers have testified to the effectiveness of Threelac, and some even claim to have experienced major benefits within just a couple of days of taking the probiotic. However, the majority of people will need to use Threelac for several months before noticing any changes to their gut health.
Should I also make dietary changes alongside taking Threelac?
When it comes to gut health, diet and nutrition can also play a fundamental role in stimulating the growth of helpful microorganisms. As a result, you may be wondering if any specific dietary changes are required alongside Threelac to achieve optimal results. If you’re suffering from ongoing gut issues, it’s advised that you avoid consuming large amounts of sugar, yeasted bread, and alcohol until your symptoms subside. In saying that, Threelac can help you to nurture healthy gut bacteria without the need for any drastic lifestyle changes or extreme diets, so you won’t need to stick to any unrealistic routines. Threelac has delivered exceptional results for many of our customers, and if you’re looking for an all-natural remedy for gut issues, it can prove to be an excellent choice. To learn more about Threelac, explore our customer testimonials, or try out the probiotic for yourself, just click here.

Below are some customer reviews, which I have borrowed from the American manufacturers web site. Obviously individual results vary, and you could accuse me of cherry picking here. But in fact I have just selected the first four in terms of the number of peoeple who clicked the “this review is useful” button on their web site.
Best brain supplement we’ve used
My husband and I have been using Neurofuzion for 3+ years now and it’s the best we’ve found. Here’s what’s interesting… my husband is 71 years old and still very bright and clear headed. But every time I stop the neurofuzion to try something else, within 2 or 3 days I notice he becomes more forgetful. As soon as I start the neurofuzion again it clears up. This has happened at least 4 times in the last 3 years, so it gives me confidence to say that it definitely makes a difference and is the best we’ve used!
Yoda like perception and clarity of mind!
This product is a game changer in my view for brain enhancement I work as IT Microsoft Windows Server Administrator and DBA and Powershell/Bash scripter on contract yes my rates are pretty good 🙂 and my days can be very hectic. I started taking this product about 6 months back and my focus of mind has never been better in my life, and I only do half dosages. While my thought process hasn’t increased to ‘lighting speed,’ my ability to recall specific items of information relevant to what I am doing at the time have increased dramatically, and ‘brain fog’ rarely occurs nowadays. The effects of this product didn’t kick until after 3 weeks of taking it.
Neurofuzion
I tried this product a few years ago, took only; one capsule per day and no results. now i realized that I never took enough. So 2 months ago I tried it again 2 in the morning,2 at night, still no result . . Then added 2 at lunch, and then it made a wow in my life!!!! unbelievable mental clarity .The heavy feeling in my head is completely gone, I feel like a new person.
Finally found the perfect product
I can’t go w/o this product. I couldn’t think clearly, remember or relax. I was feeling low most of the time. I’ve tried so many products for years and for one result or another they didn’t work as I needed them. This product has the right combo for me. It’s perfect and addresses my issues. I recommend it to many, who have the same response. Actually all of the products from GHC I’ve tried, have been just ‘better’ than anything else I’ve tried. I’m a holistic health coach, so I study ingredients and have tried many good brands. For me these are the best.
Other products that I recommend for mental well being:
It is almost criminal in my opinion for anyone with mental health challenges, stress, anxiety, poor sleep (the list goes on) not to take Magnesium. So that’s virtually all of us! I usually recommend 400mg twice per day for a week, then 200mg twice per day for another week, then 100mg taken 1-3 x per day almost indefinitely for anyone who has a stressful lifestyle. There are lots of decent magneium products around, and endless debates about which is the best form of magnesium to take, and some claims for “our one is the only one that’s any good” which I find rather unethical. The one I pesonally take is magnesium taurate, but I am not saying that this is the best one for all of the people, all of the time. Only that it seems to be the best one for me. There is also quite a good case for varying or combining different forms of magnesium. So it’s good that we sell quite a few different forms of magnesium. I would like to add here that magnesium is one of a few minerals that almost everyone is deficient in, and therefore almost everyone benefits from taking. (The main reasons for this deficiency being our very stressful modern lifestyles, refined / processed foods, and depleted soils).
Please also note for those taking these products, the magnesium found in Oxy-Powder, Colosan and Mag 07, are NOT bioavailable forms of magnesium and are not designed to be magnesium supplements (they are designed to be colon cleansers and oxygenators). So please do not rely on them for magnesium support.
This is our own very effective little product. It’s very popular at my sister company, Health Fusion Clinic where we sell quite a lot of it, and the co-owner raves about it. Being our own artisan product, it doesn’t have a shiny and sexy label like you get with the bigger brands we supply, nor does it have huge marketing behind it. But we know what we are doing, as shown by the reviews.
This is something I have been taking consistently for a few years on just one capsule every morning, as it tests well for me energetically for long term usage. However it doesn’t seem to work overnight. In my case, the benefits crept up on my gradually. It was only after I had been taking it for a few months that I realised that my general mood levels had been better and anxiety levels lower, and they seem to have stayed that way. As well as being good for mood, it’s also a great anti-aging antioxidant.
Same comment as above in that it always seems to test well for me. Very well known as a traditional remedy for anxiety and sleep disorders, used for hundreds, if not thousands of years.
When I say essntial fatty acids, I am mostly talking about Omega 3 fatty acids. There is an almost endless amount of research on the benefits of supplementing Omega 3 for mental well being, clarity, preventing cogntive decline etc. There are some nutritionists who take the view that the Omega 6 should be supplemented too, but this is more controversial (and a big subject) as there are others who take the view that we get more than enough Omega 6 from modern diets. And there other others who beleive in supplementing with Omega 3, 6, 7, and 9. This is why we have a range of options, and this also includes both vegan and fish based options.
This anti candida remedy was originally marketed in the early 1990’s as NHF1, then as Candacurb, then as Golden Seal Formula (in order to comply with EU regulations, designed to “protect” the consumer, in other words, big pharma), and finally as Thyme Formula (thanks to yet more EU regulations designed to protect the vested interests that campaigned for them). This is an extremely powerful anti-candida product consisting of seven anti candidal herbs. In severe cases, westronglysuggest preceding taking it with Wild Endive Formula (for candida die-off), as discussed below, for up to two months, or at the very least taking both at the same time, as it may otherwise cause Herxheirmer / die-off reactions.
In an article in the Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine in June 1993 entitled “Conquering Candida”, the original formulator described it as such : –
“NHF1 {Thyme Formula} has simplified the treatment of candidiasis enormously. We used to spend much time at each consultation identifying the various organs infected by Candida and would then test a variety of supplements for their activity at these sites. We often found that several supplements had to be combined in order to achieve the spectrum of activity that we needed to eliminate Candida overgrowth completely. Now, in all but the most complicated of cases, we have been able to abandon this tedious procedure. We also found that resistance to individual supplements would sometimes develop, necessitating a change of supplement half-way through treatment. This hardly ever occurs with Thyme Formula, presumably because of its highly composite nature”.*
* Composite meaning “from a wide variety of herbs”.
Thyme Formula properties
1. Thyme Formula is a highly effective herbal remedy, designed to bring Candida under control in 2-3 months, and usually eliminates it within six months. (Please note, one bottle = 2 weeks supply on an average / typical dosage of 2 capsules twice per day).
2. Thyme Formula has been designed to penetrate all organs, including those difficult to access, such as the colon, brain, vagina, and bone.
3. Thyme Formula contains several different anticandidal herbs and therefore possesses a broader spectrum of activity than a single agent against the many different candida strains encountered clinically. For the same reason, resistance to Thyme Formula is less likely to develop. By using a combination of herbs, the ingredients work synergistically. In other words the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
4. Thyme Formula provides an array at beneficial effects in addition to its anticandidal activity that are relevant to the control of candidiasis:
i) It supports the immune system. If Candida is merely killed by an antifungal agent and the immune system left unsupported, the chances of recurrence are high.
ii) It supports the liver, which is usually stressed by Candida and its toxins. Improving liver function helps combat Candida overgrowth since the liver is part of the immune system, and since bile is inhibitory to intestinal Candida. The liver is also the main eliminatory organ for Candida toxins, which cause many of the symptoms associated with candidiasis.
iii) It enhances secretions from all digestive organs. Such secretions inhibit intestinal Candida and diminish gas production, a frequent problem in candidiasis.
iv) It supports the adrenal glands. There is a reciprocal relationship between the adrenal glands and Candida: hypofunction of the adrenal glands permits Candida overgrowth, and Candida damages the adrenal glands by free-radical and autoimmune mechanisms.
v) It helps treat intestinal bacterial dysbiosis. Dysbiosis is responsible for allowing Candida to overgrow in the first place, and additionally, contributes to the intestinal disturbance (gas, bloating, and discomfort) and systemic toxicity associated with candidiasis.
vi) It helps heal the leaky gut induced by Candida. A leaky gut encourages the development of food allergies and facilitates the absorption of toxins from the bowel.
vii) It is strongly anti-protozoal. Infestation with intestinal protozoan parasites such as Giardia and Blastocystis often accompanies candidiasis. Such a parasitosis may cause some of the symptoms attributed to Candida (gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, leaky gut, dizziness, fatigue), and may also give rise to immunosuppression.
viii) It possesses useful anti-nematode activity. Nematode (worm) infestation sometimes accompanies candidiasis and may be responsible for some of the symptoms attributed to Candida (abdominal discomfort gas, ileo-caecal valve dysfunction, leaky gut, fatigue), and may also give rise to immunosuppression.
ix) It helps treat the hypoglycaemia that often results from candidiasis. Much of the malaise and discomfort experienced by Candida victims originates from hypoglycaemia.
Please note, because they are so similar, if the “regular” Thyme Formula is out of stock, we may send Thyme Formula A (below) instead rather than keep customers waiting.
Thyme Formula A is an alternative herbal blend to Thyme Formula more appropriate for people with sensitive gastro intestinal systems, Colitis or Crohn’s disease. The only difference is that the Cayenne (Chilli pepper) has been replaced with Yellow Dock in the “A” formula. Thyme Formula is a minimally gentler remedy than the regular Thyme Formula but on a parr – more or less – in terms of effectiveness.
Oregano Formula has been formulated with seven herbs (one of which is Oregano) by the same people as Thyme Formula for those requiring a completely different anti candidal product – it would usually be used if Thyme Formula is too aggressive and the person wants an effective but gentler polyherbal formula. It can also be useful if Thyme Formula doesn’t work. And it can be alternated on an approximately two weekly rotational basis with Thyme Formula for the people we come across occasionally who find that no matter what they take, their bodies become resistant to single products within days or weeks*.
* If seems to be necessary or desirable to rotate it with a third anti-candidal polyherbal remedy, I usually recommend Mycozil.
How Long Must I Take Them For?
Too many of our customers expect to be cured in a week. Sorry, but although there are odd exceptions, that just isn’t the way nature normally works. So even though it sounds a bit patronising to repeat myself, as I wrote above Thyme Formula is a highly effective herbal remedy, designed to bring Candida under control in 2-3 months, and usually eliminates it within six months.
Please note, one bottle = 2 weeks supply on an average / typical dosage of 2 capsules twice per day.
Probiotics and anti candidal herbal remedies
When taking Thyme or Oregano Fomula or Mycozil it is important to take a high quality probiotic such to replenish the gut with friendly bacterial strains. The ones we most commonly recommend due to their excellent success in their own right at combatting candida are Threelac or Fivelac. If possible the probiotic should be taken at least an hour away from Thyme Formula or any other herbal remedies that are antifungal or antibacterial.
Originally marketed in the early 1990’s as NHF8, then as Candatoxcurb, then when that name became illegal under EU regulations, renamed as Bayberry Formula. It was then re-formulated and renamed a second time as Wild Endive Formula in order to comply with yet more petty EU regulation designed as the authorities put it to “protect the consumer” in other words “protect the pharmaceutical industry that campaigned for it”. Five of the seven herbs are the same as the original formulation, and we estimate that it’s around 90% as effective. In an article in the Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine in June 1993 entitled “Conquering Candida”, the formulator described it as such (please note, we have amended the wording by using the newest name for the product here)
“Candida toxins are undoubtedly the cause of much of the symptomatology associated with candidiasis. Pre-eminent among these is acetaldehyde, which poisons by irreversibly binding to tissues and destroying them by free-radical activity.(1,2). Whilst it takes some months to eliminate Candida overgrowth, it is often possible to lower the level of Candida toxins quite quickly, and to achieve this we give Wild Endive Formula alongside the anti-candidal treatment. This formula contains herbs that support appropriate eliminatory pathways, and is also an antioxidant formula. One lady who was suicidal actually claimed that it saved her life by lifting her Candida-induced depression within a matter of days.”
Wild Endive Formula is especially useful for severe cases, and for those who have a history of a “die‑off” reaction when undergoing anticandidal treatment as it will minimise the die off symptoms. It should precede anticandidal therapy in such patients for approximately two months, or the two may be given concurrently where there is less concern over a possible die‑off reaction.
Please note, because they are so similar, when Wild Endive Formula is out of stock but Wild Endive Formula is in stock, we will usually ship Wild Endive Formula A (explained below) rather than keep customers waiting.
For most Candida sufferers, Wild Endive Formula is an extremely useful and well tolerated remedy. However, it has emerged that for a small minority, its mild anticandidal activity from ginger is sufficient to provoke a die-off reaction. In Wild Endive Formula-A this has been removed and replaced with Artichoke and Galangal so that it is completely devoid of even mild anticandidal activity.
Diet Whilst Using These Products
Avoid alcohol and sugar while you are trying to eradicate candida, dysbiosis or small intestine bacterial overgrowth as much as you can. Consumption of the above will slow down your improvement. I am not a fan though of being obsessional or making your life into a complete misery over it, as advocated by some practitioners. Stevia, xylitol or erythritol are usually OK, unless following a FODMAPS diet, which I am not going to go into in detail here.
Try them – be willing to give them a fair crack of the whip as opposed to dabbling with them for a week or two, which frankly is a waste of time with any herbal remedy, and let us know how you get on. Reviews on the web site are always very, very welcome.

If sniffling your way through winter with tissues in hand and a tickly cough is familiar to you, you’re not alone. In winter, it’s prime time for viruses like the common cold and the flu to spread across the population, so our immune systems and general health need a helping hand.
Unfortunately, this is also the season many of us suffer from a lack of Vitamin D, also known as the sunshine Vitamin. Our bodies use the sun to create Vitamin D, and arriving at and leaving work in the dark while spending all day indoors (as is common during winter) can seriously impede our body’s ability to create this key vitamin.
While you can get Vitamin D from some food sources (oily fish, red meat, and fortified foods), the lack of winter sunshine leaves 1 in 6 of us with low levels of Vitamin D in our blood. This important Vitamin can be even harder for vegans and vegetarians who can’t get it from the most common food sources.
The solution? A Vitamin D supplement.
Here’s why all of us should be supplementing Vitamin D this winter.
Vitamin D keeps bones, muscles, and teeth healthy Vitamin D is a key nutrient that your body requires to stay healthy at all ages. Its key function is to regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body. Calcium is one of the vital minerals required for healthy bones and teeth while also playing a role in blood clotting, regulating heart rhythms, and allowing muscles to contract. Meanwhile, phosphates are essential for producing energy, muscle and nerve function, and bone growth, making the regulation of both these key nutrients vital for a healthy body.
A lack of Vitamin D can lead to bone deformities Getting sufficient Vitamin D is especially important in younger years when your bones are still developing. In children, a lack of Vitamin D can cause bone deformities such as rickets, with the most common cause of rickets being a Vitamin D or calcium deficiency. Adults without sufficient Vitamin D can suffer from osteomalacia and related bone pain.
Supplementing Vitamin D is cost-effective Sure, there are food sources of Vitamin D available when you aren’t getting enough sunlight. But unless you have the budget and the time to cook fresh oily fish and expensive red meats regularly for dinner, you’ll find it difficult to attain the recommended amount of Vitamin D from food alone. Plus, vegetarians and people with particular dietary requirements may be unable to eat adequate amounts of foods containing Vitamin D. A more cost-effective and simple way to get sufficient Vitamin D is by taking a supplement. That way, you won’t have to plan meals obsessively to get this important nutrient from food.
Prioritise your health with a Vitamin D supplement
Vitamin D isn’t only necessary during winter. If you don’t get regular outdoor exposure to sunlight or you live somewhere with few sunny days across the year (we’re looking at you, Scotland), you might benefit from taking Vitamin D supplements all year long. The good news is that taking a regular Vitamin D supplement doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank. Our popular Vitamin D supplement will see you through the winter months at an affordable price. It’s combined with Vitamin K2, which ensures that the calcium production encouraged by Vitamin D3 ends up in your bones, not your arteries. The best part? The chewable tablets come in a tasty apricot flavour, so no more gulping down unpalatable vitamins while holding your nose.
Next time a virus breaks out, rather than relying on wearing a rag over your face to “protect” you, or experimental toxic chemicals called “vaccinations” even though they failed to actually immunise those who took it, use your common sense and support your immune system and you will, like I did with Covid, brush it off pretty quickly. There are countless ways to do this. Vitamin C, Zinc and Vitamin D (which virtually everyone living in the UK should take anywayfor general health, most of the year) are amongst the most obvious examples for mitigating viral illness. Personally, I really like Antioxidant Supreme as a general lifestyle product for immunity and viral protection, as well as protecting against free radical damage / anti-aging as a long term product to take for optimal health all the time.
Olive Leaf Extract – A Wonderful Anti-Viral / Anti Bacterial / Anti-Fungal and Immune Booster
Herbs such as Olive Leaf Extract are less well known but I I have been taking 2 capsules a day for a couple of years now. Why am I taking it?
The following extract comes from the highly recommended book “Olive Leaf Extract….Potent Antibacterial, Antiviral, Antifungal Agent” by Jack Richardson. ISBN 1 86512 095 5.
The following is a summarised list of this potent botanical’s apparent health benefits:
Effective inhibition and prevention of infection by wide range of pathological microbes, including viruses, bacteria, retroviruses, fungi, parasites, yeasts, and moulds.
The enhancement of elasticity of arteries, which improves blood flow, reduces high blood pressure, and prevents the progression of other forms of heart disease.
The relief of inflammation related to arthritis, especially rheumatoid arthritis.
Improvement in symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome and related disorders.
Ability to fight free radical production.
Prevention and treatment of many types of viral infections, including the herpes viruses, most influenza and common cold viruses, Epstein-Barr viruses, the HIV virus, the cytomegalovirus, and others.
Eradication of candidiasis and associated yeast syndromes.
Effective eradication of a variety of parasites, from microscopic protozoa to intestinal worms.
Enhancement of energy production in the body.
Relief from toothaches, painful haemorrhoids, athlete’s foot, mycotic nails, and various other annoying conditions.
There is a lot more to learn in the book about the various problems it is said to help (such as chronic fatigue), but amongst other things, it states that olive leaf extract “has been shown to be effective against candida albicans, candida krusei, oral candidiasis, vaginitis (thush) yeast syndrome, giardia, pinwroms, tapeworms, ringworm, protozoa and many others. Besides the clinical research that demonstrates that olive leaf extract is effective against fungal and yeast infections, there is a wealth of data from personal case histories of individuals using it for similar purposes”.
Suggested Usage
General Health / Long term : Take 1 capsule twice per day
Acute / Short term: Take 2 capsules twice or three times per day
Vitamin D – The Life Saving Immune Supporter – Strengthening Our Bodies Against ALL Viral Illness.
This is extracted from a newsletter written close to the beginning of the pandemic, but my view is the same now as it was then.
Here I want to acknowledge the wonderful Vlogger Ivor Cummins and refer people to his YouTube video found here. This video discusses the study, which I am sure you won’t be seeing on BBC News showing that those who’s Vitamin D level was below 10ng/ml were 10.1 x more likely to die from the virus than those who’s blood level was about 30ng/ml. (note: ng/ml – nanograms per millimeter of blood. In the UK its measured in nmol/L instead, which can be a bit confusing as this gives a figure which at first glance looks 2.5 x higher than ng/ml).
What’s interesting is that even this study misses an important point. The optimal level is not 30ng/ml. Iregard that as the minimum acceptable level. The optimal level is about 60ng/ml. How do we know this? It’s pretty easy really. Basically when we manage to get as much of our bodies as possible in the sun regularly (without burning), and when the sun is at an angle of above a minimum of 30 degrees to the earth (in the UK we have this for 8 months of the year, but only for a brief period of the day during the transition months of October and March) weakest sun months of that time), and 40 degrees for dark skinned people, we get up to 60-80ng within a couple of weeks. It never goes much above or below that no matter how much time we spend in the sun. And that’s the optimal level at 50 or more rather than the barely enough level of 30. Had the study been based on the optimal amount, not the minimum amount, one can only assume it would not be a 10.1 x higher risk for death. The difference would be far more impressive! You can see the risk of death from Coronavirus in visual terms to the left (this is a screen shot from the highly recommended aforementioned YouTube video) plotting the risk of death against vitamin D status. You don’t need to be a Professor of statistics to understand it.
Regarding what I regard as the drivel around the R1 number I also highly recommend this short video found here.
1 Remember that? I had forgotten about this BS until I re-read the newsletter I extracted this from.
Vitamin D Supplements
In my opinion if you can’t get in the sun, then you should supplement with Vitamin D, every day that you don’t get in the sun for some non-burning tanning time without splashing on toxic sunscreens that block UBV. Of the different Vitamin D products we provide, my favourite one, and indeed the one I take, is this one. High strength 5000iu, not the PATHETIC dosage recommended by the mainstream, which is almost useless. Suitable for sublingual absorption or chewing. And it comes with the added advantage of containing Vitamin K2, which ideally should always be combined with Vitamin D. That’s the subject of another newsletter as the K2 has a lot of benefits of its own.
Recommended usage: One a day every day except on days when your body has had or is going to get enough sun (note this is not possible from October to February in the UK).
Another excellent high strength and popular Vitamin D product is Plant Based Vitamin D, which is the one to go for if you prefer a liquid to the sublingual tablet. For those who want a lower strength Vitamin D, we provide several others choices.
Who is at the highest risk of all for Vitamin D deficiency?
The truth is that most people have below optimal levels of vitamin D. But some people are even more likely than average to need a vitamin D supplement. The following list is not exhaustive, but covers the most common group of people who are especially likely to need a vitamin D supplement.
Breastfed infants, because human milk is a poor source of vitamin D, largely because the mothers themselves have poor vitamin D levels
The elderly, as their skin doesn’t make vitamin D when exposed to sunlight as efficiently as young people, and their kidneys are less able to convert vitamin D to its active form. (Is this one of the reasons why the elderly are at higher risk of dying from coronavirus?)
Dark skinned people as it takes them much longer to produce vitamin D from action of of ultraviolet light on the skin. (Is this one of the reasons why black and Asian people are at higher risk of dying from coronavirus?). In my opinion dark skinned people living in the UK should take vitamin D throughout the year, including during periods of fine sunny weather.
People with disorders such as Crohn’s disease or celiac disease who don’t handle fat properly, because vitamin D needs fat to be absorbed.
Obesity, because the body fat binds to some vitamin D and prevents it from getting into the blood. (Is this one of the reasons why obese people at higher risk of dying from coronavirus?)
People who have had gastric bypass surgery
People with osteoporosis, hyperparathyroidism (too much of a hormone that controls the body’s calcium level), sarcoidosis, tuberculosis, histoplasmosis, or other granulomatous disease (disease with granulomas, collections of cells caused by chronic inflammation),
People with cancer
People who take medicines that affect vitamin D metabolism.
Our full range of Vitamin D products is found here.
Obviously the above is not a comprehensive list of all products that protect us from viral infection – they are just a good start. I’ve written about many of the others in previous newsletters, and doubtless I will again on future occasions. I’d love to go into some of them, but I know that most people won’t read for long and if you’ve this far, I’m already on borrowed time.
Now A Word About Wearing Face Masks (or what when I was a kid, we called worthless rags).
“Masking was the single most common non-pharmaceutical intervention in the course of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Most countries have implemented recommendations or mandates regarding the use of masks in public spaces. The aim of this short study was to analyse the correlation between mask usage against morbidity and mortality rates in the 2020-2021 winter in Europe. Data from 35 European countries on morbidity, mortality, and mask usage during a six-month period were analysed and crossed….These findings indicate that countries with high levels of mask compliance did not perform better than those with low mask usage.” – https://www.cureus.com/articles/93826-correlation-between-mask-compliance-and-covid-19-outcomes-in-europe
Just to summarise the official narrative…
I said from day one that wearing snot filled rags over our faces was a stupid idea, which would not have any effect whatsoever. If the fact that pretty much everyone got Covid in the end (myself included, which I presume means I am not a “covid deniar”, whatever that was supposed to mean, as claimed by a couple of geniuses who wrote to me) was not proof enough, then this study hopefully would be the proof. Always focus on promoting wellness, not running from illness. If you do that, your immune system willl cope, it will mature and in the greater scheme of things you will be better off.
